Happy New Year!

Today is a new day and a new year, and to commemorate this occasion, here is a slide show put together by the folks at NBC News of New Years celebrations around the world:

New Years Celebrations Around the World

I hope everyone's new year was peaceful and satisfying.  May all your goals come to fruition in 2014.

2013 was my first year in college after high school, then taking 3 years off. I just started school with this summer semester and I have to say, I have enjoyed it. It got my brain working again. Thank you so much!

Brazil looks amazing at New Years! I would love to be swimming in the ocean to bring in the new year. I think it is important to look at the bigger picture here, as every country as a whole comes to celebrate the new year. Yes, some may on different days, but as a unified culture across the globe, that is one thing that is particularly significant to all people. There is no judging to how others celebrate, there is just the beauty seen in the different ways that it is celebrated. Typically with fireworks and other festivities, but for one night at least, we can all say that we are the same. Culturally diversified, but culturally unified.

If I was going to celebrate my upcoming 2018 New Years I would love to travel to the Seattle Space Needle and enjoy the view with fireworks all around. It be great for photography and many of smiles to share with friends and family. Where are some neat places you've traveled for New Years?
